Olympia SM7 and Hermes 2000

Here is a pair of very nice machines, an Olympia SM7 from the late 1950's (left), and a very early Hermes 2000.

I have been asked on a number of occasions for the type of Hermes 3000 that was used by Steinbeck in World War II and Korea. The fact is that the Hermes 3000 did not come out until 1958. All Hermes fans, Steinbeck included, had their choice of the "Baby Rocket" or the "2000".
