Underwood #6

Talk about a pair of Foxy old Bangers,, then your at the right place. The Underwood #5 had been on the market for so many years it was out dated big time by the thirty's, dollars were hard to come by, and Royal was out selling Underwood five to one, now it was time for Underwood to "Fish or cut bait". First thing on the menu was to close up the old open model #5 and make it look more like a typewriter from the thirty's instead of the eighteen hundreds, then add on a few new features like key set tabs from the front, a standard eleven inch writing line, a paper bail rod with rollers to hold down the sheet, the old Mickey Mouse paper fingers of the #5 were a pain to work with.

Underwood #6

Bingo we got the Underwood #6 a much improved model. Still not in the same ball park with the deco KHM Royal with segment shift but they were trying to update and still not lose the flavor of almost forty years. I do like the two tone effect of high gloss and textured black finish with out all the gold pin stripes of the #5. If you look close you can see the paper table on the front model came with a textured finished (about 200,000 machines newer), same gold decals. A lot of class and here is the best part,, what you see is what you get, these two old timers or in stock and ready to fly.
Thanks Mr. Typewriter p.s. they or not cheap....
