"Why did I pitch dad's/grampa's old desktop typewriter out, give it to Good Will, make a lamp out of it, boat anchor, etc.?"

I have heard this sad story many times in the last twenty years or so.

O.K. so, listen up now,,.rich or poor, wannebe or serious wordsmith. Some years back I put a dozen new Olivetti full size L-98 all metal desk top manual typewriters away for a day when there was nothing on the market but some Mickey Mouse plastic typers coming out of India/China/etc.
